Happy Saturday everyone! I am so happy because this week’s weather has been perfect! And the weather was perfect for my 5k run today, the Shamrock Run! Considering that I broke my foot in September, I am pretty happy with my time of 31:02. That is about a 10 min mile pace. The funny thing is that I also used my RunKeeper app and it gave me a 9:46 pace.
Anyway, here were my workouts this week.
After my 5k Run:
So, I have to say, the run was pretty good! The weather was perfect and it warmed up just in time that I didn’t need my running jacket that I brought with me. My legs did feel like jello during the run because I did squats last night (115 lbs) but I managed to run the entire time.
The run started off by leaving Raley Field and crossing the bridge. It was such a pretty view, especially since the river is full from all the rain we had this season. The run went through downtown and then back to Raley Field. It was a great 5k run, which I ran the entire time. After running the 5k, I felt like I could have gone longer and did the 10k. Oh well, next time. I enjoyed a beer after the run. Happy Almost Saint Patrick’s Day!
I know that drinking a beer after a run is not the smartest idea, since it does slow down recovery. It is better to eat food, with a ratio of 3:1 carbohydrates to protein.
