Fitness Friday 38

Happy Friday everyone. How are you guys doing today? I’m doing alright, thank you very much. It’s been a busy semester.

I don’t have much for you guys today. I’ll have another post up later tonight about my schedule. In the meantime, here were my workouts for the week.

Fitness Friday 9-26-14

 

I know, I know. My “workouts” are getting more and more pathetic. It’s just running. I’m happy to even get a run in. The only time I have to workout is early in the morning, if I wake up early enough. I normally do. After that, it’s work and school. I fit it in somehow.  I used to workout a lot more but now, it’s not as much.

Another thing is that my half marathon is NEXT weekend. I am SO excited. I know that I probably won’t set a PR but at least I’ll be running the half. My uncle will be running it with me. It’s always great to have family that actually runs with you. Well, I’ll probably be ahead of him but it’s nice that he’s running the race as well. We’ll be keeping each other on track with our goal: beat 2 hours.

So, that’s another reason why my running has gone down a little bit. I’ll probably run 10 miles on Sunday and then my runs will be nice and easy for the rest of the week. No exercise at all next Saturday. My last run on Friday will be a nice 3 mile run.

I guess that is it for now. After I finish up with my half marathon, I’ll probably still run but I won’t have those long runs anymore. I’ll run 5 to 6 days a week. It’ll be 5 to 6 miles each time I do run. I’ll probably add more yoga or something into my routine. I haven’t decided yet but I’ll let you guys know when I do.

Anyway, that is it for now. I’ll talk about my schedule in my next post.

Fitness Friday 36

It’s Friday again. How are you guys doing today? I could be doing better. School, work, relationships, it takes a toll on you! Anyway, that’s just life.

Before I talk about life (unless, of course, I don’t want to), here’s my workouts I did for the week.

Fitness Friday 9-12-14

 

 

I know, I know. It is a lot of running. I should work more on strength but I don’t have as much time as I used to for working out. I am squeezing my workouts in the morning, when I do have time. That is, if I wake up early everyday. Don’t worry. I wake up at 5 am during the weekdays.

I am also getting faster now, which I am happy about. My running slowed down after my half marathon. Now, my speed is building back up. I am really happy about that. Hopefully, I can get 2 hours or under for my half marathon next month!

In other news, I will be focusing more on family, school, and work now. They are important. Family will always help you no matter what and will always be there for you. School is important for education. Work is important for gaining experience and money.

Updates on Life

My summer class is done and it’s time for some relaxation. Well, until I start reviewing chemistry. I will be relaxing the rest of this week before I start reviewing. Let’s look at my past 6 weeks.

Here is what I did yesterday. After, I’ll show pictures of recent eats and other things I’ve been up to. I warn you there are a lot of pictures.

I went to Tower Cafe with family and friends. Here are some of the foods we ordered. I ordered the East African Veggie Burger. It has fries and a side of peanut sauce. I didn’t eat the fries and gave it to my cousin’s kid.

Tower Cafe is really popular here and we have to make reservations. It was my first time going, even though I’ve been living in the area my whole life! The atmosphere and food was amazing! The cheesecake wasn’t that great though.

Earlier yesterday, I also went to the mall with my family and friends. We also bought some gelato (so good!). I got a small scoop of Mocha Almond Fudge and Tiramisu.

I also bought a Caramel Macchiato Cupcake from Esther’s Cupcakes. I haven’t eaten the cupcake yet (I will tonight) but I tried the frosting and it is so good! It is not overly sweet. I bet the cupcake will be amazing. I’ll let you guys know in my  next post on how the cupcake tastes.

We also went to karaoke after eating at the Tower Cafe. I love singing.

Today, I went to Grocery Outlet and bought this stuff.

The Fiber One Protein Cranberry Almond will be my snack while working. The Health Valley Organic Sprouted Amaranth Flakes sounded good, so I had to buy it. And, it was only two dollars. You can’t beat the prices. The Fiber One was only one dollar. The tabouli was delicious too!  Not pictured is a Nature’s Path Frosted Lotta Chocolotta Toaster Pastries. It will also be a snack while working. I love that it is organic. It is not the healthiest thing in the world but if you are in a mood for a poptart, these are a better option. You can always make your own to make it even more healthier.

This is from World Market. I used this curry sauce to make the Chickpea Curry. The Strawberry Chocolate Spread is decent. It is a bit too sweet.

I guess that is it for now. I don’t want to bombard you guys with too many pictures. Last night was really fun celebrating a cousin’s birthday. Shopping, eating at Tower Cafe, and going to karaoke was fun. My birthday was fun too. I guess you can say that all birthdays are fun!

Fitness Friday 24

Happy Friday everyone! How are you guys doing today? I’m doing great, thank you very much.

I know that my vlog I posted yesterday was a bit weird and I was nervous! I won’t be on my next vlog. It is weird because I was able to record for my Spanish project back in high school. I wasn’t as nervous, you can say. You guys can watch it here, if you want. I warn you about the very beginning.You can skip the first 20-30 seconds. We chose a short story we read in AP Spanish and recorded our own video of it. We chose Jaque Mate en Dos Jugadas.

Anyway, I am here to post my workouts. Here are my workouts for the week. I might do yoga later today but it depends if I have time. I have a lot of studying to do for my midterm!

I love drawing diagrams and learning about how all the macro nutrients and alcohol are digested and absorbed. I also love learning all the processes, hormones and everything involved in metabolism.  It is a lot of information to learn in just 6 weeks (16 chapters) and we’re half way done so far. It is a lot of fun though!  We’ll be learning more about vitamins and minerals after the mid-term.

There are other diagrams I drew, including the tricarboxylic acid cycle (TCA), also known as Kreb’s Cycle or Citric Acid Cycle and the Electron Transport Chain, to name a few.

 Please enjoy this picture of me in a dress (just to make things a bit more fun here). I was debating whether to buy the dress but since I want to save money, I decided to not buy it. I think it looks nice. It looks better in person though.

The past month, I also made a cake in a rice cooker, tried some other nutter butters, and tried the Chocolate Choco Chimps Cereal and Alpine Valley Sprouted Honey Wheat bread. The Vanilla Expresso Almond Butter was my favorite!
