Half Marathon Training

I can’t believe it. I will be running my 4th half marathon.

10-4-15 half marathon

This plan is subject to change. As of right now, I do have access to the gym. Once my summer class ends and the fall semester starts, I may not have access to the gym. My school schedule may be too busy.

If my schedule changes, I will post the change.

That’s it for now.

Have you ran a half marathon before?

What was your plan when you ran your half marathon?

Happy Sunday everyone. How are you guys doing today? I’m doing alright, thank you very much. I went to the Mystery Spot in Santa Cruz with my family today. It was really interesting.

Anyway, here’s my plan for the week.

I can’t believe that my half marathon is next weekend. I am not really prepared for it but I will run it. I know I can at least finish it. That means that I may have to walk it (possibly half). I know that I will not get a PR.

I guess that is it for now. Time to make my protein balls!

Have you ever been to the Mystery Spot? If so, what did you think of it?

Weekly Meals and Workouts 53

Happy Sunday everyone. How are you guys doing today? I’m doing alright, thank you very much. I started my half marathon training today. And, guess what. It SUCKED! Try running 8 miles in cold, foggy, windy weather. No wonder why I love waking up early in the summer and going out for a run. In the winter, it’s cold and you don’t want to get out of bed! I now know the difference between training for a half marathon in the summer and in the winter.

Seriously, my hands were turning red (probably should have worn gloves) and it felt like my airways were being trapped. I don’t know. I braved the cold for 6.5 miles and then I went home and ran 1.5 miles on the treadmill to finish off my 8 mile run. It’s funny too, because I bought new running clothes for this weather. Long running pants, long sleeved running shirt, and a new sports bra. Hopefully, I’ll adjust to running outside in the cold.

Anyway, here’s my plan for the week.

1-18-15 Meal Plan

I never really tell you guys what sort of protein or veggies I eat. Generally, my sources of protein are chickpeas, tofu, eggs, vegetarian fake meat, seafood, and sometimes chicken. I don’t eat meat that much. I only eat it when I’m eating with my family and they tell me to eat it. Even then, I don’t eat pork. It’s really hard in an Asian family to be vegetarian, which is what I want to be.  Vegetables include cauliflower, broccoli, green beans, spinach, eggplant, and other vegetables that I don’t know the English names of.

Workouts

Sunday-   8 mile run

Monday-    4 mile interval run

Tuesday-  strength

Wednesday-  6 mile tempo

Thursday- Hill Runs

Friday- 6 mile slow jog

Saturday- yoga

After each run, I’ll do some body weight exercises for strength, I’ll stretch, and I’ll do some foam rolling.

I guess that’s it! Wish me luck on getting used to running in the cold.

What’s your plan for the week?

Do you have any suggestions in running in the cold?

Fitness Friday 54

Happy Friday everyone. How are you guys doing today? I’m doing alright, thank you very much. Here were my workouts for the week.

Fitness Friday 1-16-15

As I mentioned before, I’ll be resting  for a bit before starting my half marathon training. I don’t know whether to do my 8 mile long run tomorrow or Sunday. It really depends on the weather. It looks like it might rain on Sunday but I’ll keep my eye on the weather.

In other news, I don’t have much news. I went to Pieology with a co-worker on Tuesday and the pizza would have been delicious if they hadn’t burnt the crust. I ate Chipotle Burrito the next day. Sofrita, cheese, guacamole, brown rice, and black bean. I know. I’ve been eating a lot of carbs!

I guess that’s it for now.

How were your workouts this week?

Do you have any plans for the weekend?

Running another Half Marathon!

I can’t believe it. I am going to run another half marathon. It’s on March 29! At first, I thought that I’d just run one half marathon a year. But, hey. Why not run 2 in a year? It’s going to be so much fun! My uncle will be running with me again! =)

We ran the 10 mile run, Urban Cow Half Marathon, and the 5k together so far. It’s about time I run with him in the first half marathon he ran last year. I was the one that pushed him to run his first half marathon. I was there, waiting for him at the finish line. I expect me and him to get a better time. My goal is not to beat 2 hours anymore. My goal is to just beat 2:10. His goal is to beat 2:25.

So, here’s my training plan.

half marathon training plan 3.29.15

I don’t have much experience running outside in the winter, in the early morning. I know it’s cold. So, this will be very interesting. I even bought a long sleeved running shirt for my long runs on Sundays. I’ve been weak and been running on the treadmill lately, which is so boring! Now, I can have some change of scenery since I will be a bit warmer wearing a long sleeve. Also, I will pick a different running route. I notice that a change of scenery helps with running.

Wish me luck on my 3rd half marathon!
