Disneyland November 2017

I went to Disneyland and California Adventure during Veteran’s Day weekend to celebrate my sister’s birthday. It was so much fun! It was a nice change of weather since I live in northern California. I love the warmth and sun. I am not a huge fan of cold and cloudy weather.

Anyway, the main reason why we went was that they will be closing down a lot of rides for a while to build/redesign new rides. One of them is California Screamin. They are also closing my favorite restaurant in California Adventure, the Cove Bar. They will probably open it up again after construction but I am not sure if they will be keeping the same name/food.

First day was Disneyland.  My plane landed in Orange county around 9:30 AM and we didn’t get to Disneyland until about 11AM. My sis and I took pictures and decided to eat lunch in the park. I ordered a turkey sandwich with chips and my sister ordered the grilled cheese sandwich with the tomato soup. The tomato soup was so good. Dip the grilled cheese in it, it was delicious!

After that, we decided to go on all the rides! Space mountain, Matterhorn Bobsleds, Pirates of the Caribbean, Star Tours, all of it. It was weird since it was more crowded than the last time I went back in June. The wait was longer than what I was used to. Maybe it’s because we went during Veteran’s Day weekend and Disneyland also just started their holiday season.

The rides were fun, the holiday decorations were pretty, and the castle was absolutely beautiful at night, especially with the lights! We just had to take pictures.

My sis and I ate dinner at Naples, in downtown Disney. Man, the food is expensive! Also, the waits for the other restaurants were so long. I ended up getting an eggplant parmesan dish while my sister ordered a chicken alfredo type of dish. It was pretty good but I don’t think it was worth the price that we paid for. Oh well. I knew eating at Disney was going to be expensive.

After dinner, we headed back to the park to watch the fireworks! We just had to watch the holiday themed shows.

The next day was California Adventures!

We got up a little late and ended up getting to the park around 11. There was no line getting in, which was awesome! The first thing we did was get a fast pass for the World of Color Water show (which was holiday themed) and then we went to the Cove Bar to eat brunch.

The reason we went to the Cove Bar is because we wanted to drink the Fun Wheel drink and eat their lobster nachos. Another reason is that they will be closing down this place while they are redesigning and doing construction in the park. My guess is that it won’t be called the Cove Bar anymore once it’s done.

Anyway, we ordered the Earthquake, Fun Wheel, Lobster Nachos, spinach and artichoke dip, and the Fajita Quesadilla Rolls.

 

The food was so good but we were stuffed after eating it. I think we ordered too much and we ended up eating most of it but not all of it.

We went on the Ferris Wheel (the swinging one) and California Screamin after eating (don’t worry, it was at least a 45 minute wait for California Screamin and a 15 minute wait for the Ferris Wheel). I heard that they were going to make California Screamin the Incredibles themed, so we had to go on that at least once before they re-brand it.  The Ferris Wheel is also supposed to be replaced with Pixar characters.

We went on a lot of rides after this, including going on the Grizzly River Run 3 times in a row! There was literally no line (probably because it wasn’t warm and sunny) but the ride was still fun! We also went on Soarin Around the World, Radiator Springs Racers, Guardians of the Galaxy, and a lot more! It was fun but the waits were long. Getting fast passes were a waste too, since you could only get one every few hours and the time would be for 4 hours once you get the fast pass.

We also ate a corn dog and churros at the park. That was our “snack” before watching the World of Color show. We got a great spot to watch it and I recorded the whole thing. I suggest going at least a half hour early to get a good spot. After all, it is holiday themed and I rarely get to go to Disneyland!

 

We were pretty much done after watching the show. We looked through the stores to buy some souvenirs. Then, we headed out and ate dinner at a sushi place!

 

Yes, there was a lot of eating out but hey, don’t restrict yourself too much while on vacation. You want to enjoy it!

The next day was pretty chill. I hadn’t gotten much sleep at all the few nights before so I slept in! Then, my sister and I went to eat Korean food. We got kimchi fried rice with cheese on it,  fried chicken, and kimbap.

The food was delicious. I rarely eat Korean food and this was pretty good. I think the place was called Chan Chan’s. It’s in Orange county.

After, we ate ice cream at Cauldrons. It’s nitrogen ice cream! The cone is an egg puff but churro flavored! The ice cream had oreos in it. It was delicious!

 

After all the food, we went shopping at Daiso and TJ Maxx. Then, it was time for me to go home.

I had a lot of fun during my trip and at a lot of delicious food. It was a nice weekend get a way.

2017 – Fitness Friday 33 (on a Saturday)

It’s Saturday everyone. How are you guys doing today? I’m doing great, thank you very much. I am really enjoying my new job and learning a lot of new things!

Anyway, here were my workouts for the week. I didn’t do my long run this week, sadly.

2017 – Fitness Friday 27 & 28 (on a Sunday)

Happy Sunday everyone. How are you guys doing today? I’m doing great. I went on vacation with my family the past week, which is why I haven’t posted in a while. We went to the East Coast and traveled to New Jersey, New York, Philadelphia, Washington D.C., Niagara Falls, Montreal, Quebec, and all over the place. We joined a tour. We had such a great time. My favorite was Niagara Falls!

To be honest,  I only worked on once during my vacation (the circuit workout). You know what? That is okay with me. I started back up with my workouts after I came back. I will also post an updated half marathon training plan. It won’t be too different from what I had originally posted.

Anyway, before I get into anything else, here are the workouts I did do while I was gone.

It did feel nice to take a week off from working out. I feel like every once in a while, it’s okay to take a week off from working out. It’ll give your body a break and you will feel more motivated to workout once you take that break.

Disneyland 2017 Recap

I can’t believe it. It’s been almost five or more years since I went to Disneyland and finally, I went again the past weekend, after five years. I went with mi novio and we had a blast!

So, we decided to fly in Saturday night so that we could have Sunday and Monday free to just go to Disneyland and California Adventure. We flew back home Tuesday afternoon.

Since my sister is going to school in Irvine (in the same county as Disneyland), I visited with her the night we flew in. We went to the Anaheim Packing District for a late dinner (plane landed around 8 pm). The packing district has a lot of food vendors you can buy food from. It’s like a huge food court.

I ordered a beer from the Iron Press and their Spicy Chicken Waffle Sandwich. My sister got the same. Mi novio also ordered a hotdog from Doggone Good. The beer was pretty good but the food was alright. I was expecting more from it.

The next morning was Disneyland! Our hotel was about a mile and half away and we decided to take a shuttle instead of walking there. It would have been good exercise though to walk.

We arrived at the park half an hour before it opened and a long line had already formed. We didn’t have to wait too long though and then we were let into the park a little early. We decided to hit up the rides first since it was early and there wouldn’t be too many people in line. We hit up the Buzz Light Year ride, which had no wait at all. And we also went on the Star Tours and Space Mountain. We didn’t have to wait too long for the rides and it was pretty fun! It was mi novio’s first time going. We took pictures, I bought a Disney shirt and we got Birthday buttons and my boyfriend got the 1st visit button they give you. You have to ask someone at one of the stores to get the buttons but it’s free!

We hit up other rides too, including Indiana Jones and Pirates of the Caribbean. We ended up eating lunch at Hungry Bear restaurant at the park but the food was okay. I ordered the burger while mi novio ordered their chicken sandwich. The food didn’t taste anything special but it did full us up.

We hit up a few more rides after and went back to the hotel to rest for a bit. We went back during dinner time and ate Uva Bar at Downtown Disney for dinner. We went back to the park after and went on a few more rides before watching the Electric Parade and the fireworks show. It was pretty nice.

The next day was California Adventure. I mistakenly thought the park opened at 8am so we got there around 7:30. It turns out, the park opened at 9! Whoops! It worked out at the end because we didn’t have to wait long at all to go on the new Guardians of the Galaxy ride (it replaced Tower of Terror). My friends went a couple weeks ago and said the wait for the ride was about 3 hours. We barely even waited 10 minutes once we got there. The ride is essentially the same with the drops but has different decorations and of course, a different story line. I really liked the ride. Mi novio was terrified at first from the first drop, but he ended up liking it.

After that, we took some pictures with Spiderman and in front of the obligatory pier picture in front of the Ferris Wheel and California Screamin.

We went on California Screamin and it’s one of my favorite rides! It started to get hot so we bought ice cream. We went other other rides after and then ate lunch at the Cove Bar. I got there Fun Wheel Drink CB Lobster Nachos, and their Quesadilla Rolls. All were delicious! The cocktail was pretty good as well, plus it looked pretty.

We hit up other rides as well after lunch and then of course, took a little break and went back to the hotel. Toy Story MidWay Mania, Radiator Springs Racer, and Mickey’s Fun Wheel, and Golden Zepher were some of the rides we went on before taking a break. We went back and went on other rides, including Soarin Around the World and Monster’s Inc.

We watched the World Of Color show and it was a great show. We didn’t get the best place to watch it but we were still able to watch it. It was so pretty! After the show, we shopped for souvenirs and went back to the hotel. It was pretty late when we ate dinner and decided to just get Domino’s Pizza delivered.

Tuesday was just getting ready to head back home. We ended up eating at CoCo’s Bakery Restaurant for brunch before leaving (we slept in because we woke up early to go to the parks). The food was actually pretty good. I ordered an omelette with hashbrowns. It came with a coffee cake as well. All were delicious!

So, that was what we did at Disneyland and we had so much fun! I ended up not working out but realistically, I could have. I just didn’t want to stress out about working out and eating healthy. After all, it’s vacation!

2017 – Fitness Friday 22 & 23

Happy Saturday everyone. How are you guys doing today? I am doing alright, thank you very much. I have been so busy the past couple weeks and didn’t have time to post my workouts. One reason being is that I went to Disneyland with mi novio last weekend. We had so much fun! I will be posting more about it tomorrow along with a few pictures. Right now, this post will be solely about my workouts the past two weeks.

Fitness Friday 6-23-17

As you can see, I did not workout during my trip. Walking itself gave us enough physical activity for the day.  I pretty much went right back into my routine after coming back. The first day was hard but I pushed through.

The main reason why I didn’t workout was that I didn’t want to stress myself out too much to fit in a workout. We arrived at the parks at least half an hour before it opened and got back to our hotel around 11pm. Sure, I could have got up early to workout at the gym at the hotel. However, I wouldn’t have gotten enough sleep to have the energy to go around the parks. Plus, I didn’t restrict myself either with food. I indulged and ate great food. Now, it’s back to my normal eating.

Anyway, that is it for now. My vacation recap will be up tomorrow!
